To Grandmother's House We Go

Over the hill and through the woods to grandmother's house we go. I don't know about you, but a trip to grandmother's house rarely meant a trip over the hill or through the woods, rather it meant getting on the freeway, to the interstate, then down a busy street, and into suburbia. I don't recall any run-ins with big bad wolves, only big trucks and bad drivers.
However you get to grandmother's house it is a good place to be. Grandmas have a tendency to spoil you, or at the very least let you get away with the occasional craziness.
This beautiful picture was not taken on the way to my grandmother's house, but rather on a drive up Diamond Fork Canyon with my wife in Utah.

What I can do with my phone.

Cell Phones are rather fancy theses days. Some of you can still remember when there were no cell phones, and some of you had those first bricks that people called cellular phones. There was even a time when phones were built with cords in cars for the rich and famous. Now everyone totes a little phone around with them. For good or bad that is the way things are.
Another great innovation with the cell phone was the addition of the digital camera. Initially the pictures had such low resolution that they looked like Mario and Luigi did in 1985. Now you can take pictures like this anywhere you go. This was taken near Park City, Utah.

I start school next week, and this past week I started work. I work from 5AM until 830 AM, and it's been sooo hot here in Utah! I have been melting! I would love to be at this Lake, and back home in Canada!

Freezer in a field?!?!

I visited my Grandfather's farm many times when I was young but it wasn't until my last visit that I noticed an old freezer, sitting in the corner of a field. Was it always there and I had just missed it, or was it a recent addition to the scenery. By the looks of the rust it had been there a long time but how could I have missed this before. Such an odd thing to be in the middle of a field but it made for such an interesting picture that couldn't be passed by.

Evanston, Wyoming: A Greater Purpose

Have you ever just stood in the middle of nowhere and loved it? I think so many times in life people find themselves lost. Those are the times in my life where I like to stand back and look at the big picture. To me this picture is a representation of how life looked to me at one point. The beauty and all the bugs not seen. But even though it was a difficult time in my life I can truly look back and see that I was never lost. I just had to trust that someone else could see the bigger picture. So the next time you find yourself in this situation. Stand back and enjoy the scenery because eventually you will find out it had a greater purpose.

Spider Monkey Day Dream: The Grass is Greener on the Other Side.

Have you ever wanted something you couldn't have. At some point this occurs to the best of us.We all have our day dreams in which we are rich or famous. We all have our moments in which we think, if only. But don't let dreaming of what might be make you miss out on what could have been if you had lived today. Dreams can either focus our lives and give us drive, or they can destroy us in a foul mood of ill contentment. Let your dreams be a driving force for good. Don't covet what is not yours, rather find a way to become what you dream off and no fence can ever hold you back. Don't sit at the base of the fence like this spider monkey with a dumb look on your face, but get to work and hatch the plan that will allow you to get over the fence, because when you get there by yourself, rather than having it given to you, you will find the grass greener on the other side.

Who You Calling Chicken?

Has anyone told you how they see you and it amazed you what they said? The way we see ourselves for good or bad is not always how others see us. This Rooster sees himself as hot stuff strutting around showing off for the hens. What I see is a tasty five piece bucket. We often delude ourselves that we are more important than we are, or fail to realize the importance we have to those that rely on us. Take a look in the mirror, then take another look, because you probably missed something.
This picture was taken at the Utah Hogle Zoo. They let chickens, peacocks, and turkeys wanders around there.
