The Washington Monument

Washington Monument Washington D.C.

Here is some more from my trip to D.C. As you can see the leaves were colorful, and the skies were blue. Though I was there for a research conference, I happened to find ample time for taking in the sights, and shooting a few pictures. I cannot take full credit for the composition of this photo however, I saw a man with what looked like very expensive camera equipment set up and take a similar photo. I walked up quickly tweaked my settings, snapped the photo, and it took me less than a tenth of the time. It would be interesting to compare the results.

The National Mall

Cherry tree and park bench on the national mall in Washington DC
I took this picture in November while I was in Washington DC for the Society for Neuroscience Conference. I am posting this picture in commemoration of finishing my master's thesis. If any of you have been wondering why there have been so few posts on the blog recently a long document detailing a year and a half of research had something to do with that. I was able to present it while in DC, and while there I was able to capture a few good pictures as well.

Utah Red

Here is some Utah red rock. I have heard people say that there is not a lot of color in Utah, but the colors that there are are beautiful enough to make up for the ones that are lacking.
